Wow, I can’t believe it’s already been a month since I went on this trip! I don’t know if you guys know this, but I have a pretty cool job. It’s opportunities like this that remind me I made the right decision to follow my passion and quit my 9-5. (It’s been two years since I left my desk job!)

I had the wonderful opportunity to check out the Fairmont Mayakoba resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and meet and photograph some lovely bloggers from all over the US! The property was so pretty and unique. This post is part one of two. I split them up because I took a ton of photos!

 

The little bungalow-type rooms with terraces along the river were amazing. The bathrooms were huge and like a personal spa!

 

Here’s a shot of Jess near one of the many pools on the property. I shoot with Jess often here in Chicago, so it was great to be able to go on this trip together!

I met Megan on this trip and loved working with her so much! We found this nook of palm shadows along the wall of one of the rooms.

 

Since the resort is so huge, the Fairmont Mayakoba provides bikes and shuttles to and from the main resort to the other side near the beach.

 

 

One of my favorite parts of any trip is the food and Las Brisas at Fairmont Mayakoba did not disappoint! We ate here a few times and it was so good.

 

 

The traditional town center at Mayakoba called El Pueblito, had cute colorful cafés and shops. It was the perfect photo-op!

 

 

Another thing I love to check out while traveling (besides food) are the local craft breweries. Fairmont Mayakoba offers craft beer and mezcal tastings paired with food from Las Brisas. I tried so many good ones I don’t even remember which was my favorite!
