Elopements are perfect for any couple looking for something much more intimate, small and flexible. For Caitlyn and Nick, their Fall Chicago elopement was nothing less than magical.
The Love Story
Nick proposed to Caitlyn in Wisconsin overlooking Lake Michigan with his entire extended family during a giant family photoshoot and the rest was history. They chose to elope mostly due to the complications of the pandemic. Caitlyn and Nick didn’t want to put their life and dreams on hold while wondering when things will “go back to normal”, so they bit the bullet and decided to elope (yay!).
Fall Chicago Elopement at the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool
Now, Chicago has a lot of wedding venues to choose from. Whether you’re looking for something elegant, minimalistic or bohemian, there are options for anyone & everyone. One of my favorite go to locations for beautiful wedding photos no matter the time of year, is the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool. Caitlyn & Nick chose to have their wedding ceremony at the Lily Pool due to its amazing scenery and architecture. To them it was like a hidden oasis in the city which really showcased the beautiful fall foliage. The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool is filled with beautiful rock formations and of course we can’t forget the stunning lily pool itself.
Caitlyn was wearing a beautiful satin halter neck dress with an open back by Catherine Deane. Nick was wearing a fitted suit from Indochino. Both of them looked absolutely amazing along with Caitlyn’s son with his matching suit! Surrounded by their closest family & friends, they had the most beautiful wedding ceremony while having Caitlyn’s son right by their side (brb…crying).
Industrial Arts House
After their ceremony, we headed over to the Industrial Arts House for the reception. This modern industrial space was absolutely perfect for the vibe that Caitlyn & Nick were going for. Although it does incorporate an open floor plan, due to the decor there are different areas of this open space that make it feel unique. They had a private chef cater their reception and overall the day was just perfect.
Deciding to elope was the perfect decision for Caitlyn & Nick to still be able to pursue everything that they wanted. I’m honored to be able to capture such special moments for my couples to cherish forever. Congratulations C+M!!
