The Love Story

Bridget and Josh met back when they were attending college. They had a bunch of mutual friends, but one night while at a bar they spotted each other across the room. From then on, they have become inseparable! It was one night when Bridget came home and noticed that there were flowers and candles arranged throughout their apartment. As she followed a path of roses and candles, she came to a stop when she noticed Josh on one knee. Of course…. we all know how the rest played out *wink*.

Fall Chicago Wedding at Fairlie

We began the day with these two getting ready in the bride and groom suits at their wedding venue, Fairlie. This wedding venue is the perfect spot for any couple looking for a space that is extremely versatile but holds a bit of an industrial vibe. Bridget and Josh both chose this location because of the exposed brick and black iron accents. They felt it was very raw, real, and extremely beautiful, ESPECIALLY with all of the spots for natural light to peek in. After getting ready, we made our way down to the main area for their ceremony. There was tons of greenery and don’t even get me started on that beautiful archway they had. Bridget is a big fan of gardening and wanted flowers to be a major key in the decor. Since the rest of the color palette for their wedding was mostly neutral, they felt that they could use a couple of different colors in the bouquets and floral accents. I completely fell in love with the entire atmosphere and of course, the ceremony was just as beautiful and touching as ever.

Wedding Portraits & Reception

After the ceremony, we made sure to get the newlyweds some wedding portraits with just the two of them. Fairlie is surrounded by secluded alleyways with a lot of space, so we mainly utilized those industrial vibes to speak through the photos. We made sure to utilize all of the space that we had and really show off as much character and realness as possible, which is what both Bridget and Josh both wanted. After some portraits, we made our way back inside for their reception that was just such a blast. After some sweet speeches (which btw… there were a few tears shed) and cake cutting, it was then time for the open dance floor. They had Rush Street Rhythm via Gold Coast Events as their band and everyone was just having such a fun time enjoying the night dancing away. The reception area had been decorated with beautiful lights and really set such a great mood for the rest of the night.

Overall the night was a HUGE success. I had such an amazing time with Bridget and Josh and am so happy that I was able to document such a special moment for them both. After the wedding, these two jetted off to Tulum, Mexico for their honeymoon (ugh, jealous!). Congratulations B+J!!!

Advice from the Couple:

Everyone kept telling us to ‘soak it in’ and I felt like I had a lot of opportunities to just look around and observe, and I remember so many details from doing that”

Oh and something else to note… out of the whole day there is only ONE thing that they would have changed. Always and I mean always…. order enough champagne!
