Congratulations to Lauren + Jace on their first child!

Jace is a pitcher for the Chicago White Sox so they wanted to do their session when they were in town for Soxfest in January. I tried to prepare them for the brutal cold that is Chicago’s winter (you know, dress warm, wear layers, put hand warmers in your pockets, etc.) but I had no idea what was actually about to hit us. Turns out, the week we were scheduled to do the session was the week the polar vortex hit the city.

From what you can tell from the photos, we were battling some fierce wind along the lake and snow at Guaranteed Rate Field. But what you might not be able to tell was that it was only 3 degrees! I’m so glad they toughed it out because we got some really great images in the snow at the stadium! It was so amazing seeing the field covered in snow.

After the session, they got to escape to the warmth in Arizona for spring training. Hopefully it warms up here before they have to come back for opening day!
