Glitz & glamour meet downtown Chicago as Jamie and Steven take on the city for their downtown fall Chicago anniversary session!

The Love Story

These two lovebirds have been married for a total of five years. It was back in 2016 when they eloped in the city filled with croissants, baguettes and a whole lotta love… Paris! Since then they have enjoyed every moment together being married and soaking up each others company.

Downtown Fall Chicago Anniversary

To celebrate their anniversary, Jamie and Steven really wanted to encompass a modernized Hollywood glamour type vibe. They absolutely love dressing up and wanted to do something that was glamorous but still fun. To achieve this desired look, we mainly focused on shooting from sunset into the evening to really capture the essence of those old school glamour vibes.

We began at The Darling, a moody and stunning lounge/bar that really gives off the classic 20’s era. This was the perfect location for us to get creative and get some great glamour shots. The Darling has three separate sections that can fit whatever mood you are in. A ballroom, which emulate a social club/speakeasy; a library which gives an intimate dining and drinking experience and lastly the rose garden which gives a classic British garden vibe to the urban living of downtown Chicago.

After making their way through some delicious cocktails, we stopped to get some shots on the Chicago Riverwalk. The riverwalk is one of my favorite places to shoot at strictly because of the gorgeous water and skyline views! As it got darker, we began wandering the streets of Downtown Chicago and that’s when I saw the prettiest sunset. I of course had to stop Jamie and Steven and get a few photos with them in the street with the sun peaking beyond the horizon, it was just perfect.

The Chicago Theatre

To finish off the night, our last stop was at The Chicago Theatre. Opened in 1921, this theatre is an important part of Chicago’s history. Noticed by it’s very famous and large “Chicago” sign and sparkling lights, this location is a necessary stop in Chicago’s many wonders. With their being so much history and art, it was only proper to use the theatre as a location spot for that Hollywood essence.

Steven and Jamie may have completely sold me on all the glitz and glamour and truly made this one of my favorite sessions that I have shot to date! Oh, and if you loved this Downtown Fall Chicago Anniversary, then you’re going to love this Intimate Chicago Elopement.
