February 7, 2022

If you’re looking for a sign to do whatever you want for your wedding, here it is! For Anelle and Kyle, they stepped away from the traditional norms of a wedding and made their wedding day completely their own. Keep reading to see what a gorgeous brunch wedding looks like during Anelle and Kyle’s Fall wedding at Buffalo Creek Brewing.

The Love Story

Anelle and Kyle both met while they were attending law school together. Insurance law to be exact and that’s where the rest became history. Back in 2019 on Christmas Day both of their lives would change forever. While visiting Anelle’s family in San Diego, California, Kyle proposed at Carlsbad State Beach. It was such a sweet and intimate moment between them, oh and of course their pup had to join.

Early Morning Getting Ready

We started off the day much like any other, with getting ready photos. Anelle and her bridal party spent the morning getting ready at Anelle’s house prior to driving to their venue for the ceremony. As Anelle put on her wedding dress, I almost gasped at how beautiful it was. Her dress was from Calla Blanche and was filled with so much lace detail and wasn’t completely white. Underneath the lace was a nude underlay and was much more muted than a traditional white dress which was honestly perfect for her.

If you’re looking for your sign to wear what you want on your wedding day, THIS IS IT! So many people believe you need to have a white wedding dress. While white has many symbolic meanings and of course is usually the traditional color for your wedding attire, I’m glad that over the years we have begun to step out of that comfort zone. So many brides have had the opportunity to wear many different types of wedding dresses, all of them being unique and so beautiful. The main thing when deciding what to wear is 1.) do you feel comfortable and beautiful? 2.) is it you? – these are the questions that you need to ask yourself!

First Looks

While many people think that first looks can be done only with your partner, that is so far from the truth. In all actuality many people choose to do first looks with their parents and even wedding party! It adds a bit more fun and is a great way to involve your loved ones on your special day. For Anelle, she really wanted to do a first look with her dad so after getting ready that’s just what we did. It’s always so emotional during these moments, so I will let the photos do all the talking for this one.

Barrington White House

After it was then time for Anelle and Kyle’s first look, but it wasn’t at home. We made our way over to Barrington’s White House. A mansion that was built back in the late 1800s has now been restored into a meeting and event space for the surrounding community. It was a location that Anelle and Kyle really wanted to go to because of it’s elegance and timeless feels, which was an absolute game-changer. As for their first look, you may ask? You can imagine the first look was just as special and intimate as it could be and is always a great way for the couple to connect on a deeper level and have a bit of alone time on their wedding day.

Barrington White House was absolutely stunning and filled with so much charm and absolutely incredible decor. The interior was that of a classic victorian home and don’t even get me started on the chandeliers! We walked around and really just soaked up every inch of beauty because truly the space spoke for itself. We even made our way outside where there was this incredible garden space that transitioned perfectly to their outdoor ceremony.

Fall Wedding at Buffalo Creek Brewing

For Anelle and Kyle’s ceremony, they wanted to step outside of the box and do something different. After taking portraits, we headed over to their ceremony & reception space at Buffalo Creek Brewing for their brunch wedding. Yes, you read that right! Anelle and Kyle wanted a very laid-back and relaxed wedding. They wanted to step outside of the traditional norms of weddings and put their own spin on things. For them, they struggled with a lot of people questioning why they chose to do a brunch wedding instead of a mid-after/evening wedding but at the end of the day, it didn’t matter. They both chose to do something different and chose what felt right to them which is all that mattered. To be honest, I think that the brunch wedding was the ULTIMATE twist on a traditional wedding and I loved it. I mean it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy some good brunch food + get married? Win-win in my book!

Buffalo Creek Brewing was decorated so beautifully and really hit all of the checkmarks that Anelle and Kyle were going for. The couple’s main priority is that they wanted all of their guests to feel warm and invited and with the beautiful gazebo and beautiful fall air, it really was the perfect atmosphere. The ceremony was just as beautiful as Kyle waited for his soon-to-be bride to walk down the aisle. Smiles were forming, tears were flowing and it’s during these moments that everything seems to take a pause. I think no matter what and no matter how many times I do this, it’s always this part that can make me tear up. I mean, how could you not??

Reception

One of the most important things for A+K on their wedding day was to do a reception space first look. They wanted to be able to enter the area before anyone else to see all of the final details, florals, centerpieces, and decor come together as one. Their faces were absolutely priceless as they walked into the space and were able to see the beauty that was their reception. All of the decor came together beautifully and fulfilled everything that they both wanted and more. We ended the day with some first dances, speeches, cake cutting, and of course a wardrobe change for Anelle into another dress! A perfect way to end an absolutely perfect day for Anelle and Kyle.

Words of Advice:

Anelle & Kyle wanted to give a few words of advice for any couples in the middle of wedding planning right now:

Be present and enjoy your day! Focus on YOU and don’t worry about everyone else. The day really does fly by”

Don’t worry too much about what others have to say about your special day. At the end of the day, it’s all about you and your partner and a celebration of love. So do what feels right to you!
